A simple way to gain perspective

We’re in the heart of vacation season and no matter what type of vacation you have taken or have planned for this summer, they all share a few common characteristics:

  1. When you go on vacation, you change your environment.

  2. When you change your environment, you’ll likely gain a new or different perspective.

It’s probably fair to say you didn’t plan your vacation with these specific intentions in mind, but it’s a good example of a tool you can and should regularly implement in your life.

Whenever you find yourself feeling stuck and/or needing a new perspective, the easiest thing to do is to change your environment.

You can change your environment with something as simple as moving to a different room in your house, taking a walk outside to get some fresh air, or changing up the route you take on your way home from work.

Changing your environment is the low hanging fruit of getting yourself unstuck and unlocking a new or different perspective.

You don’t have to wait for your next vacation to start.

Sometimes a simple change of environment is all you need to gain the perspective you likely didn’t even know you were looking for in the first place.
