Finding your aligned life

Watching how people approach their lives is one of the most interesting parts of my job. And if I’ve learned anything from being granted that bird’s eye view, it’s this:

There’s no one way to do it, only the way that works best for you.

Now before you reply with a sarcastic comment, here’s the north star I’ve found for figuring out that way that uniquely works best for you.

Become consistently curious.

You can apply this simple approach to yourself, others, and your finances. For example…

When it comes to yourself, when’s the last time you tried something new? Or stopped doing something that no longer serves you? And have you considered how you’re choosing to spend your time and with whom?

The more you adopt an exploratory approach to your life, the more aligned your life starts to become around what matters most to you.

This same curiosity applies to other people around you. Once you’re curious about their lived experiences, it’s easier to understand – even if you don’t agree! – why they act and think the way they do. You can then quickly apply this information with better context to your own life and your expectations of others.

And when it comes to your finances, consistent curiosity can be immensely beneficial. It unlocks how you can best align your financial resources in service of the people, places, causes, and things that uniquely matter most to you.

The good news is that even if being consistently curious doesn’t come naturally to you, it’s not hard to get started. Pick one thing in your life that immediately comes to mind and start there. Begin without expectations or an intended outcome in mind; just follow your own curiosity and see where it leads you.

Being consistently curious helps you enjoy life’s journey while releasing control of your ultimate destination. And while that might sound scary at first, it’s actually the unlock that helps you find your own aligned life.
