You’ll figure it out

Pretend you asked me to take a look at your financial situation…

“What do you think? Will I be ok?”

My answer back would probably be…

You’ll figure it out.

Don’t believe me?

Start by acknowledging that an unknowable future is often the cause of our financial anxiety.

Your ability to figure it out doesn’t come from “the numbers,” nor does it mean it’s all smooth sailing ahead. In fact, big changes might be required.

Rather, my answer is a reminder that no matter what life throws at you, you’re capable of figuring it out.

And while hearing it helps, financial preparation is how you can start to believe it.

Knowing what’s coming in versus going out.

Building a cash cushion to guard against life’s many surprises.

And saving and investing so that compounding can do its magic over time.

Actions taken on the things within your financial control are how you can acknowledge the anxiety that comes with an unknowable future — but still convince yourself that no matter what happens, you’ll be able to figure things out.
