Are we doing this right?
When you’re busy shuttling the kids back and forth between soccer and gymnastics, wondering where you’re going to pick up dinner from tonight, it doesn’t leave much time to ponder whether or not you’re getting the big things in life right.
Are we on the same page financially?
Is our cash cushion enough?
Are we spending too much?
Should we be saving more?
Can we actually afford the things we want?
And perhaps the ultimate question…
How do we live the life we want - without financial regret?
Ignoring these questions increases your anxiety and worrying eats up even more of your limited time and energy.
You find yourself putting out financial fires one after another, bickering with your spouse over even small decisions, and – maybe worst of all – sometimes you lie awake in bed at night worrying: "What if we're doing this all wrong?"
It doesn’t have to be this way.
When you and your partner get on the same page about money, you eliminate petty little squabbles.
When you know you’ve got a solid cash cushion, you worry less when the unexpected happens.
When you know why you’re spending money, you don’t fret over every spending decision.
When you know why you’re saving money, you’re motivated to make it happen.
And when you’re living the life you want with comfort and confidence, you sleep better at night.
When you have a flexible framework in place that allows you to make the right financial decisions for your life, you not only regain your time – your life also gets a lot better.
But it takes more than an app and algorithm or some pre-packaged “check the box” system to create the flexible framework you want.
Someone who can help you create and craft your own path forward. Someone who will hold you accountable to doing the work necessary to create the life you seek.
If this is what you’re looking for, you’ve come to the right place.
A guide, a plan, and accountability
Life is a series of unexpected changes and a one-off financial plan won’t help you deal with those changes – but a flexible framework built to adjust as your life changes will.
As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, I help Gen X families minimize regret by intentionally creating the life they want with financial comfort and confidence.
I pair technology with a personal relationship so you receive the individualized attention & advice along with the accountability you need to get where you want to be.
Here’s what you can expect in our first year working together:
4 to 5 in-person or virtual meetings to get your flexible framework established
A punch list of your action items with assigned due dates
Guidance and on-going accountability in completing your action items
Quarterly status updates on your framework with recommended adjustments
On-demand phone and email support for any financial questions that come up during the year
Here are the types of issues we can develop strategies for together:
How to align your household spending with what you value
How much to contribute towards retirement and what accounts make the most sense
Whether to boost cash savings or increase contributions for kids’ college
How to help out Mom and Dad when the time comes
Help making decisions about buying a new home or making renovations
How to manage the financial implications of a job change
Reviewing your employer benefits & discussing healthcare options
Self-employment questions about retirement plans or disability insurance
What to do with an inheritance
How to make charitable contributions that work for your finances
Throughout our process together, we can help you:
Create a plan that works for you as an individual AND as a couple
Make financial decisions that balance what works emotionally AND financially
Stop feeling overwhelmed and start feeling empowered
Retainers range from $3,600 to $8,000 per year, are paid on a quarterly basis via credit card, and are reviewed & adjusted on an annual basis. Pricing reflects the anticipated scope, time, and complexity of our work together over the upcoming year.
I only accept two new clients per month.
Intro Consultation & Opportunities Report
I know that working with a financial planner can feel like a big commitment. And I only work with clients who are ready to put in the work. So to make sure we're a good fit, I offer each new client an Intro Consultation & Opportunities Report.
Here's how it works:
We’ll get to know each other a bit, make sure we’re on the same page, and I'll answer any questions you might have.
If we decide to move to the next step, I'll have you set up an account in the financial planning software I use with my clients and you'll enter your financial information so I can get a sense of where you stand right now.
In this meeting (which can be done either in-person or online), we'll review your finances and dive deeper on where you're at now and where you'd like to be. I’ll ask questions to help us discover any issues that might be impacting your current financial situation and we’ll address any questions you have. By the end of this conversation, you’ll have a good sense of me, my approach, and whether or not we’re a good fit.
After the consultation, I'll email your Opportunities Report that summarizes all of your goals, priorities, questions, and concerns – financial and emotional – that we discussed. I’ll also explain how I can help you address these issues, and provide your retainer pricing for the first year of our work together.
After you've had a chance to review your Opportunities Report and retainer pricing, we can discuss any further questions or concerns so we can make a decision about continuing our work together.
A year from now, you’ll probably look back and wonder why you waited so long to make this investment in your family’s well-being. When you’re comfortable & confident that you’re on the right track, you’ll enjoy the time you’ve regained doing what you enjoy with the people you care about the most.
